Yes Exchange 2010 can be monitored using our Exchange 2007 application.

Make sure to install the Exchange 2010 Management Tools on the Longitude Statistics Server.

The Mailbox, PublicFolder and Queue collectors will not collect until you make the following edit:

1. Go to the following folder \Longitude\lib
2. Open the EMPS.bat file with notepad
3. Edit the following line:
   C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\bin\exshell.psc1
   to
   C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\bin\exshell.psc1

Starting with Longitude V4, Longitude performs a micro-collection for Mailbox, Folder and TrackingLog collections during registration and testing. These collections may take several minutes, and the micro-collection will verify that the collection can be performed without tying up agent resources.

Exchange TrackingLog collections can fail for the following reasons:

• The IP address of the Exchange server is specified rather than the computer name. In this case, edit the LogDirectoryPath application property to use the computer name rather than the IP address.
• The previous day's Exchange Tracking logs are not present. The registration checks for the previous day's files - if they are not present, the registration of the TrackingLog component will fail. In this case, wait a day and re-test the TrackingLog collection.

If the Longitude reports are incorrectly displaying zero values in an Exchange Folder report, the Statistics Server account may not have the permissions that it needs to collect this information from Exchange.

The account assigned to the Statistics Server service must have the following permissions:

• The account must be a member of the Local Administrators group on the monitored Exchange server.
• The account must have Read access in Exchange to collect Mailbox and Folder metrics.
