Known Issues


Known issues for specific versions of Longitude and, if available, patches to address these issues or work arounds.

7.1.1: Use Firefox 8.0 or Firefox9.0 to record Internet Macros

Currently you are unable to use Firefox 8.0 or Firefox 9.0 to record Internet Macros in 7.1.1. If you would like to use Firefox 8.0 or 9.0 and Selenium 1.4.0 or Selenium 1.5.0, you will have to implement a new .jar file.

Please follow these steps below to implement:

  1. Grab the selenium patch (Right Click Save Target As)
  2. Stop your Longitude services from services.msc

7.1: After upgrade to 7.1 Network Device collections are failing

After completing upgrade to 7.1 it has been identified that some collections on network devices are failing. Users are seeing the following errors:

Rfc1213IF Failed to Collect: Network Device.rfc1213IF collected but the current and prior collections returned no rows.
Error cooking statistic type Count out of &amp:apos:0&amp:apos:. This was the 10th cooked statistic in datasource DS_1

If you are getting this error please follow the steps below:

  1. Download the firenze-common.jar file

Real Time monitoring not displaying in Web 2.0 interface

Under rare circumstances where network devices are being monitored, the Real Time display in the Web 2.0 UI may not load properly, it may also degrade the performance of the advanced UI.

If you notice this happening in your environment, log out of Longitude and restart the web service.

Please contact technical support and we will provide you with a patch to correct this issue. This problem will be fixed in the next release of Longitude.

7.1 : In the 2.0 UI, when trying to set up an Event for Unix Network not all Events are listed .

When trying to configure an Event for Unix Network there are only four options available:
• HighNetworkInputErrors
• HighNetworkInputPackets
• HighNetworkOutputErrors
• NetworkCollisions

The HighNetworkOutputPackets is missing. To correct this issue follow the steps below:

  1. Download the index-all.js file
  2. Navigate to \Longitude\tomcat\webapps\webui\web2.0\javascripts and rename the current index-all.js file to index-all.old and save the new file to this location

7.1: Unable to apply an action for Unix -> Filesystem when specific time restrictions are set in the Web 2.0 interface.

When trying to create an action for a Unix Filesystem event with a time restriction in the Web 2.0 interface, an error message stating “Error retrieving action:”appears. To correct this issue follow the steps listed below:

  1. Download the firenze-web2.jar file
  2. Stop the webui service.
  3. Navigate to \Longitude\tomcat\webapps\webui\WEB-INF\lib and rename the current firenze-web2.jar file to firenze-web2.old and save the new file to this location

7.1: When using FireFox there is a problem with selecting specific event names for the Internet Application with Action Rules

After you create an Internet Application Action Rule the list of Event Names are missing.

Please follow the steps below; this will restore the list of Event Names.

  1. Download the firenze.js file
  2. Navigate to \Longitude\tomcat\webapps\webui\scripts and rename the current firenze.js file to firenze.old and save the new file to this location
  3. Refresh the browser by hitting CTRL + F5, the problem should then be resolved

7.1: In the 2.0 UI in the SLA configuration, unable to add a computer for a Transaction other than Ping.

If you try to create a SLA and add a computer for a Transaction other than Ping it does not give you the list of computers to select:

Please follow the steps below, this will then give you the option to select the appropiate computers and instances.

  1. Download the index-all.js file
  2. Go to Longitude\tomcat\webapps\webui\web2.0\javascripts and rename the existing file to index-all.js to index-all.orig and save the new file to this location

7.0.1: Script Message pops up in Web2.0 using IE 8.0

If you are running Longitude Web2.0 using IE 8.0 you may experience a script pop up message when loading the Monitoring pages.

The message says the following:
“Stop running the script?
A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly.
If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive”

There is a bug with IE 8.0 where the default setting is to have this turned off but the message still appears. This is fixed in IE 9.0 and you won't experience this problem with Firefox, Chrome or Safari

7.0.1: Use Firefox 4.0 to record Internet Macros

Currently you are unable to use Firefox 4.0 to record Internet Macros in 7.0.1. If you would like to use Firefox 4.0 and the latest version of Selenium 1.0.11, you will have to implement a new .jar file.

Please follow these steps below to implement:

  1. Grab the selenium patch (Right Click Save Target As)
  2. Stop your Longitude services from services.msc
  3. Put the selenium-server-standalone-2.0rc2.jar file in Longitude\Lib

AT&T does not allow SMS messages to your phone

If you want to send messages to your phones and you have AT&T you will have to use the paging option.
Your cell phone will have to subscribe to the Enterprise Paging plan.
The following will have to be added as a new pager provider.

    Go to the following file, \Longitude\tomcat\webapps\webui\config\webui_pagerProviders.xml
    Open the file with notepad, copy the following line above,

    Save the file
    Restart the Heroix Longitude WebUI service
