Backup of the Longitude database and component configuration files.
Destination of the Longitude Backup
We strongly recommend backing up Longitude to a non-compressed drive. We have seen problems arise when the backup writes to a compressed drive.
How do I upgrade Longitude?
Heroix recommends contacting support before upgrading Longitude. Please post a note in the Community under Forums --> Support --> Ask the Community before upgrading Longitude, and Heroix support will contact you.
The following is an overview of the upgrade process:

If you have installed the Longitude Management Station on a new server, you can transfer the settings and data from the old server. The sequence of events for the migration is:
- Upgrade the existing Longitude installation if needed. See How do I upgrade Longitude? for details.
- Backup the existing Longitude installation. See kb55: How do I backup my Longitude server

If you have installed the Longitude Management Station on a new server, you can transfer the settings and data from the old server. The sequence of events for the migration is:

- On the Longitude server, go to \Program Files\Longitude\appman\config.
- Open the backupDefintion.xml file with a text editor like WordPad.
- Note that this schedule is initially disabled by its end date. Modify the EndDate property to enable the backup.
- A list of days of the week may be entered for daily backups.
(ex. Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday)
