Can Longitude automatically discover my servers?
Longitude has a built-in discovery mechanism. Users can control which Class C network ranges (e.g., 10.10.10) to scan or which ranges not to scan. AutoDiscovery parameters are accessible in the Advanced Properties for the Statistics Server. Look under Administration\Component Management\Manage Longitude Properties in the Longitude menu. By default, Longitude is configured to “ScanOnly” a range of 127.0.0, which assures that when Longitude is first installed that it doesn’t immediately start scanning the network unexpectedly.
