HP-UX

All,

Is anyone using Longitude V7 to monitor HP-UX? We are having problems getting memory usage stats even though there is no indication that any collections are failing.

When we go in to do a report all we see is:

"There is no data currently available for some of your charts or tables."

Works fine for our Linux servers so this seems to be something specific to HP-UX.

Longitude uses the iostat command to collect the CPU_IDLE_PCT statistic. On HP-UX, this command may return inaccurate values, which can result in CPU Busy percentages over 100%, and CPU Idle percentages less than 0.
