WEBUI 2.0: "The user must have the admin role"?

Hi,

I've created a new user with the role "reports & events only". Why can't this user log in into webUI 2.0? Thrown message is "The user must have the admin role".

Resizing Statistics Dashboard Widgets

Starting in v6.2, you can now set the default size of widgets in Statistics Dashboards. The properties for height and width are set in the Advanced Properties of the WebUI. You can configure these properties by navigating to Administration\Component Management\Manage Longitude Properties, and selecting the WebUI. Then click on the ADVANCED button. The Properties to configure are named:

  • WidgetWidth
  • WidgetHeight

kb57: Notification for available upgrade

When there is a Longitude upgrade available, Heroix will send a notification e-mail with the details of the update to the contact on file for your company.

You can also check the New Patch field in the Manage Upgrades function to see if an update is available. If you are not set up to upgrade automatically (the default), a New Patch number that is different from the Current Patch number indicates that there are upgrades available to you. The Upgrade Patch Description field includes notes about the changes that the patch includes.

kb55: How do I backup my Longitude Server?

  1. On the Longitude server, go to \Program Files\Longitude\appman\config.
  2. Open the backupDefintion.xml file with a text editor like WordPad.
  3. Note that this schedule is initially disabled by its end date. Modify the EndDate property to enable the backup.
  4. A list of days of the week may be entered for daily backups.
    (ex. Sunday,Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday)

kb51: How does Longitude SMTP server work?

Heroix Longitude can send e-mail through two mechanisms: an internal SMTP engine and through a user-configured, external SMTP server. This dual approach was taken to accommodate users, minimizing initial configuration but allowing flexibility.

Heroix Longitude uses SMTP to mail:

- Administrative notices from the Web UI (e.g. new user notifications, password change notifications)
- Reports
- Alert Notifications from Longitude rules (use the Manage Action Rules function to enable mail notification for individual rules).

kb49: Unable to load license due to name mismatch

When you attempt to load a new license, you see a red "Show Errors" link at the top of the page instead of the message "License loaded successfully." When you click on the "Show Errors" link, you see this message: "Message: A general error occurred: Computer name on license (Name in license) does not match the host name (name detected for Management Station)." This usually means that the license was made for a different computer name (or a different form of the computer name) than Longitude is detecting for the Management Station.

kb47: Heroix Longitude's internal SMTP server fails to send mail

By default, Heroix Longitude uses an internal SMTP engine, called Aspirin, to send e-mail because the internal SMTP engine does not require any configuration from the user. This internal SMTP engine is like a mini send-only SMTP server running inside Heroix Longitude. Since it is not registered as a real SMTP server, some spam filters may interpret the e-mail it sends as spam. This may be the problem if you do not receive any e-mail from Heroix Longitude.

kb46: Alerts about Longitude task problems

Longitude will send an e-mail about task failures to the MailToForLongitudeProblems address. By default, this is the address entered during Longitude installation, but it can be changed in Administration >> Component Management >> Manage Longitude Properties >> [Consolidator,Rule Engine,Web UI,Upgrade Manager] >> ADVANCED.

Task failures are usually intermittent errors due to the RuleEngine component not being able to query the database. One task failure message generally does not indicate a significant problem.

kb42: Does Longitude have the ability to show response time in milliseconds?

Longitude 6.0 and higher has the ability to collect Response Time for Transactions in milliseconds. To make this change please do the following:

  1. Go to Administration >> Component Management >> Manage Longitude Properties
  2. Click on the WebUI, then click Advanced
  3. Change the ResponsetimeinMilliseconds property from no to yes
  4. Click SAVE CHANGES

kb21: Longitude e-mails rejected by user-defined SMTP server

If a user-defined SMTP server has been configured, you may need to configure the MailFrom property to be an e-mail address that matches an account on the SMTP server. MailFrom is not a common component property - it will need to be configured for the following components:

  • Rule Engine
  • Web UI
  • Upgrade Manager

Configure the property as follows:

  1. Go to: Home >> Administration >> Component Management >> Manage Longitude Properties.
  2. Click the component from the list above.
  3. Click the Advanced button
