On some Windows 2008 R2 servers, Longitude may experience one or more of the following problems:

  • Time archived by Longitude is in GMT
  • WMI collections fail with errors like Exception Thrown while performing operation: $1
  • Component status in Administration >> Component Management >> Display Status is red, even through components are running

To patch these errors, please do the following:

  • If Longitude is using GMT, adjust the component LAX files as described in 6.2: Incorrect Time Seen in WebUI.
  •

  • If Longitude WMI collections are failing with “Exception Thrown while performing operation: $1” errors, do the following:
    1. Download the zip file containing the patches.
    2. Stop the Longitude Statistics Server
    3. Backup the following files from Longitude\lib to a different directory:
      • FzeTrackingLog.dll
      • FzeWmi0.dll
      • FzeWmi1.dl
    4. Extract the files from the zip file to Longitude\lib
    5. Restart the statistics server service

  • If Longitude component status is displayed incorrectly in Administration >> Component Management >> Display Status, do the following:
    1. Download the zip file containing the patches.
    2. Stop the Longitude Upgrade Manager service
    3. Extract the files from the zip to the Longitude\appman\lib directory
    4. Start the Upgrade Manager service
    5. Stop/Restart the Web UI service
