Problems monitoring external servers can be related to Domain security or firewall issues. Installing a Longitude Agent at the remote site will allow you to specify an account with different permissions for WMI collections, and will use specified ports through a firewall.

Longitude agents use the following ports:

  • 7220 (TCP), for data collection
  • 7223 (TCP), for data collection if using SSL
  • 7229 (TCP), for upgrades
