kb57: Notification for available upgrade
When there is a Longitude upgrade available, Heroix will send a notification e-mail with the details of the update to the contact on file for your company.
You can also check the New Patch field in the Manage Upgrades function to see if an update is available. If you are not set up to upgrade automatically (the default), a New Patch number that is different from the Current Patch number indicates that there are upgrades available to you. The Upgrade Patch Description field includes notes about the changes that the patch includes.
If Longitude is set up to upgrade automatically, which can be configured in the Manage Upgrades function using the Modify Properties button, Longitude will send an e-mail to the MailToForAutoUpgrades address when it has applied an update. MailToForAutoUpgrades can be set in Administration >> Component Management >> Manage Longitude Properties >> Upgrade Manager.
If a Longitude Agent is in use, the Agent should be upgraded before the Management Console is upgraded. In order to make sure that the Agent is upgraded first, neither the Management Station nor the Agent should be set to upgrade automatically.
***Note:
Heroix strongly recommends backing up Longitude before running any upgrade.
