kb49: Unable to load license due to name mismatch
When you attempt to load a new license, you see a red "Show Errors" link at the top of the page instead of the message "License loaded successfully." When you click on the "Show Errors" link, you see this message: "Message: A general error occurred: Computer name on license (Name in license) does not match the host name (name detected for Management Station)." This usually means that the license was made for a different computer name (or a different form of the computer name) than Longitude is detecting for the Management Station.
When you open the Load License function, Longitude displays the name that it detected for the Management Station next to the license field. For example it will say "License File for Computer" where Computer is the name detected for the Management Station. The license key that you received from Heroix must include the name in the same format.
In the Load License function, select the key and click the Load License button once - this will display the details of the key. Make sure that the same name is displayed in the Management Station field as was displayed in "License File for Computer" and that it is in the same format (e.g. if one is fully qualified the other one should be, too). If the names do not match, contact Heroix to get a new key made for the name specified in "License File for Computer."
