kb38: Fixing "SQL Statement is too long" Error in Event Monitor

You receive the following error message from the Event Monitor:

SQL Statement is too long. Increase the DB parameter Packet Size.

Please follow these steps:

  1. Stop all of the Longitude Services (Statistics Server, Consolidator, Engine, WebUI, Upgrade Manager)
  2. Log into the following url:
    http://LongitudeServerName:7230/webdbm
    Database: FZEDB1
    User: dbm
    Password: the password entered when install was done
  3. Under Configuration click Parameters
  4. Click the Support tab and scroll down to _Packet_Size
  5. Change the _Packet_Size value to 65536
  6. Click ok
  7. Click the Offline button in the State section at the top of the page and wait for the database to display its status as offline.
  8. Bring the database back online; wait for it to display its status as online
  9. Start all of the Longitude Services (Statistics Server, Consolidator, Engine, WebUI, Upgrade Manager)
  10. Close the WebDBM interface
  11. Log back in to Longitude and verify that the Event Monitor no longer displays the error message.
