***Note::
Once an agent is associated with a managed device, all collections for that device will be made through that agent regardless of the agent selected when you register application monitoring. Each managed device can only have one agent associated with it.

If you need to use a specific Longitude agent to monitor a managed device, do the following when you register an application:

  1. If using the 2.0 UI, Click on the Advanced option
  2. Go to Monitoring >> Manage Applications and select the MONITOR APPLICATION button
  3. If this is the first remote agent you are creating, there is a link for Add Remote Agent to the left of the MONITOR APPLICATION button - click on this to bring up the New Agent Computer properties. The Agent properties are visible in earlier Longitude versions.
  4. In the Agent drop down box, either select the agent you want to use, or, if you haven't used it before, select (new) - if you use a new agent:
    • fill in the New Agent Computer, either using the IP or name of the Longitude agent.
    • If you are using a different port on the agent than the default port of 7220, change the Port value
    • If you would like to use SSL, check the Use SSL box - in this case the default will be 7223
    • Click the TEST NEW AGENT button to verify that the Management Console can reach the agent.
  5. Select the application
  6. Enter the list of managed devices to be monitored for the application using the specified agent.
  7. Enter in any additional properties needed to monitor the application
  8. Click the MONITOR APPLICATION button

SSL Option

You should be able to go to Monitoring -> Manage Applications, scroll to the bottom and on the left hand side you should see Manage Remote Agents. Click on this option and here you can uncheck the SSL option and click Save Changes.
